Upon arrival at Kuching Airport, you will be met by your tourguide. Transfer by car to your Hotel in Kuching.
In the afternoon depart for a half-day city tour to see all the different facets of the many cultures combined in Kuching, like Malay, Indian and Chinese culture! Visit the Gambier spice streets, India street, the famous Sarawak Museum (closed on public holidays), a Malay village, the old Muslim State Mosque, the oldest Chinese temple in Sarawak, Kuching’s South City Hall (closed on weekends and public holidays), as well as the Waterfront where you view the colonial buildings like the Astana.

Tag 2 : Bako Nationalpark
Breakfast at the Hotel. Depart to the Bako National Park. This tour starts with a transfer from Kuching city to the small Malay village of Bako, where you then venture on a 20 minutes’ boat ride to reach the national park. This is a day with plenty of opportunities to trek through the beautiful park and explore flora and fauna at its best. Get to see various animals, such as wild boars, silver leaf monkeys, macaques or warans. If you are lucky you might also spot the odd-nosed proboscis monkeys that can only be found on the island of Borneo.
Plenty of trails to choose from, so discuss with your guide which one to take. A packed lunch is included.

Accommodation : Limetree Hotel

Tag 3 : Kuching – Batang Ai
Breakfast at the Hotel and check-out.
Depart to Semenggoh Nature Reserve, located 22 km south of Kuching. The entire facility occupies an area of 740 acres and acts as a sanctuary for orang utans that have been rescued from captivity and young orphaned primates. Many have been returned into the surrounding area of the nature reserve. There are daily scheduled feeding times. However, sightings of these primates during feeding times are not guaranteed due to the fact that they are roaming freely within the nature reserve. Proceed to Batang Ai to meet the natives of Borneo and spend an unforgettable night with them in the longhouse. The journey takes you 290 km into beautiful countryside, with a few stops along the way: the first one at Serian town, where we will visit a fascinating native fruit and vegetable market. The other stops include a visit to the pepper farm and a stop for lunch at "Lachau", a small up country Chinese village. At Lachau you may wish to make some last minute shopping, for necessities such as insect repellent or for gifts for the Ibans.
After lunch we proceed to the final stage of the journey, and arrive at Batang Ai lake. Here you will board native longboats to travel by boat across the lake and further up the river (approx. 40 to 50 minutes) to reach an Iban longhouse. Upon arrival at the longhouse, you will be taken for a tour of the longhouse to meet the natives and their families.
After dinner, the Ibans will sound their gongs and perform their traditional war dance in full ceremonial regalia.

Accommodation : Iban Longhouse

Tag 4 : Batang Ai – Kuching
The cockerels will sing loud and clear for you to wake up the next morning. After breakfast, you can join in a blowpipe demonstration before you depart by native longboat downriver to arrive back at the jetty. Return to Kuching by air-conditioned vehicle with an en-route stop for lunch at a local cafe.

Accommodation : Limetree Hotel

Tag 5 : Kuching – Mulu
Transfer to airport for your morning flight to Mulu (airfare not included). Upon arrival in Mulu, you will be met and transferred to your Hotel.
In the afternoon depart for a visit of the Deer Cave and Lang Cave. An approximately 45 minutes’ walk along a wooden plank path through riverine forest will lead you from the park headquarters to Lang’s Cave. Explore this beautiful cave with its astonishing rock formations! Next, you will venture into the Deer Cave, the world’s largest cave passage! After the exploration of these two caves you will wait at the bat observation platform to witness the bats flying out of the caves for their nightly hunt (no guarantee to see the bats; subject to weather conditions). Walk back the same path to the park headquarters and return to your accommodation.

Accommodation : Mulu Nationalpark Guesthouse

Tag 6 : Mulu Nationalpark
This morning, after breakfast, take a boat ride (30 to 40 minutes) to reach Wind Cave, with a stop-over at a Penan village. After exploration of Wind Cave, take a 10 minutes’ walk to reach the Clearwater Springs. After a short tea break, climb the 200 steps up to the cave entrance and explore Clearwater Cave. A simple picnic lunch will be served at the Clearwater Spring, after which you may enjoy a swim in the cool clear water of the Clearwater Spring.
Return to your accommodation. The afternoon is free at your own leisure to enjoy the beautiful natural environment or to sign up for one of the many other activities (not included in the package) offered by the national park, such as a canopy walk, a trek to a waterfall or a night walk. There is also a short and easy botanical loop trail for you to venture on, with interesting information boards about the amazing flora of Mulu National Park. If you were not lucky to see the bats the evening before or simply want to witness the natural spectacle one more time, you may also walk on your own to the bat observatory to try your luck again.
